Hello, thanks for checking out my blog. My name is Jelmer de Jong, and I am a Dutch theology student. I’m enrolled in a Research Master program at the Free University in Amsterdam, the same university where I also earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in theology. This Research Master is also the first step towards a Ph.D. in theology.
Theology has my main interest, but theology never ‘happens’ in a void–it is (in the end) functional. I am intrigued and passionate about the possibilities of Christian faith and responsible theology in this day and age, in which we often speak of the Western world as a post-Christian culture. I believe in Christ Jesus, and it is with that conviction that I write about theology and other, related and unrelated, issues.
